Here are some (admittedly poor) scans of the sketches I've done for one of the fables. This is past due (and I've got some other works ahead of this), but this is what I've got on the computer and can upload for the blog so far.
I planned on knowing where to insert the type (made a layout for it in InDesign) before I finalized the sketches and color it in.
These look like they are coming along great! I don't know how much I like the speech bubbles though. [The one with the really long stem on the last page for the crane bothers me the most I think.] Maybe play around with some speech bubbles that don't look like typical speech bubbles that go along with your story?
ReplyDeleteaw thx! i did change the image for that one a bit so the stem isn't as long - i was super rushed in getting this project done though so i didn't have time to think about whether i really wanted to change the shape of the speech bubbles or not - i finished all the illustrations (a post of them will be up shortly), i just have to bind the book and i'd be completely finished! i do wish i had more time to work on it, but i don't think it came out bad :)
